The mission
A new rain
StarStuff gives away everything I know, the way rain falls: to everyone, everywhere, in whatever shape they can drink. Each episode is one gift that shows how the cosmos lives inside us, so every new soul can remember what it is made of.
Why I make it
I love to teach. I can talk about anything, and the thing I most want to do with what I know is give it away. Every episode of StarStuff is a gift of everything I know to anyone who wants it.
Carl Sagan wrote that we are made of starstuff. I believe that is the most important thing a person can remember. The iron in your blood and the calcium in your bones were made inside stars. When you remember that, you stop feeling small.
Why the rain
My name, 新雨, means New Rain. Wang Wei put it in the first line of Autumn Evening in the Mountains, 空山新雨后, “empty mountains, after the new rain,” and ended the same poem with an invitation: you may stay. Rain does not choose who deserves it. It falls on every roof and every field, and each plant drinks what it can. That is how I want to give: freely, to everyone, in a shape each person can take in.
The rain is also literal. About 5,200 tons of dust from space reach the Earth's surface every year. We are made of starstuff, and more of it arrives every day.
A guide for new souls
People need orientation. Many souls arriving now need new formats to learn how to be alive, and I see myself as an orientation leader for them. StarStuff will hold a path called The Orientation: a few episodes, in order, for anyone who feels new here. The first is Yo Creo. In Spanish it means I believe, and it also means I create.
What AI makes possible
- One gift, every shape. I write an episode once. It falls as a film, a one-minute spark, a companion page with every source, a bedtime telling for children, and the same film in other languages in my own voice.
- Every sentence a bookmark. Long talks lose people because you cannot find the moment again. Here every sentence is timed, and a tap takes you there.
- Ask the episode. Each episode will be able to talk with you, answering only from its own film and sources, and pointing to the moment it came from.
- Living episodes. A book is finished when it is printed. An episode can keep growing. Each has a version, like software, and gets better when the evidence does. Callimorphogenetics is already on its fourth cut.
- The sky as a map. Every idea becomes a star and every episode a constellation. When two episodes share an idea, their stars join. Over the years the sky becomes a map of everything I know.
- Seeds in the sky. The episodes I have not made yet are unlit stars. You will be able to wish on one, and the brightest wish becomes the next episode.
Four kinds of light
I talk about the body, the cosmos and the soul, so I owe you honesty about how sure I am. Every claim carries one of four lights: Proven, Evidence, Theory or Mystery. I want you to see exactly where the edge of knowing is.
What stays the same
Each episode opens with the Starheartsong star. It holds one idea, in my voice, in chapters. It is beautiful, because beauty is how the truth gets remembered. And it is a gift, free at the door, for everyone.
